The Little Things...

We went to Claire's the other day and my little Abbers "needed" these bracelets and rings. She was so funny, each finger had to have a ring on it. She played with them for what seemed to be an eternity, and for a 2 1/2 year old I'm sure it proably was. Something so simple, made of plastic, made her smile from ear to ear with joy. The little things in life are the things that make us the most happy. I mean seriously, a simple smile from a passing stranger, finding money in your coat pocket, realizing the kids didn't eat all the ice cream, sticky kisses....oh the list could go on. So take some time out and enjoy the little things in life.

Got Stamps?

I've been crafting a little bit here and there. This summer I have been so busy being Mom and throwing elaborate pool parties (aka blow up pool with juice boxes and homemade chocolate chip cookies made from scratch--we try not to do the ones you pull apart, there's no fun in sneaking chocolate chips that way). I thought the summer would mean relaxation, but I have found out it means, swim lessons, going to the zoo, endless errands, and school work. I know it doesn't sound like much but you know how life likes to throw in a birthday party here, musuem visit here, play date there...it adds up. And YES I do have my kids do school work during the summer. Monday, Wednesday and Friday my girls gear up to be taught by there favorite teacher...Mom. We make it fun, bring out the microscope then go search the yard for things to look at. And Math is fun when you get to eat it your project after your done. Who knew learning could be so much fun! Anyways, here a few things I've managed to do while managing, mom duties, life, and my diva duties....

My Little Abi-Dab-A-Doo is an Artist!!

Yupe our little Abbers is an Artist. She drew some beautiful people on Tuesday. We even attend the exhibit. Unfortunately her artist skills will have to be motified. We are thinking of going with paper instead of the wall for the next exhibit.

At least she will enjoy helping mommy paint her wall. And a side note, we have hidden all the permant markers too!

It's HOT HOT HOT

You gotta love this Texas heat! Today the weather man says it is going to be a high of 100*!! I know what you are thinking what do you do when it is that hot? If it weren't for the kids I would be staying inside in the A/C, but if you know my kids they want to be outside, in the sun, playing. So this is how they spent there afternoon...Do you think they have enough floats? I was finally able to coax them inside to watch a few cartoons and to snack on some popsicles. But I'm sure they will be eager to get outside and play some more. Thank goodness I have such a handy husband, Bubba built the deck last year and it has been a God sent! It makes being outside bearable. He just recently put outdoor ceiling fans on the deck so now I won't be as crabby when the weather gets too hot. As if it isn't already too hot. At least now I can relax with some ice tea and get cooled off in the blow up pool with the girls.
Have a great day!

My Family

I'm Blogging!!!

Yup you heard right, I am blogging! Who would of thought I would be blogging. Crazy I know. But I figure this is one of the easiest ways in today's world to let friends and family know what is going on with our family. We have been very blessed these last few years with moving here to San Antonio, and getting out of the Army. It is a nice change to have family close by and settle in one spot. Now I will probably move the furniture around a lot and repaint a few walls here and there....not any time soon though with the paint...but I love having a place, a permanent place to call home. So anyways, I hope you will check back to see how the girls are growing and what the future holds in store for us.
